Our story begins with women.
Habitus Paper and Publishing is a women-founded, women-led publishing house shaped by a coaching community. Our story began in 2015 with The Gorgeous Girl’s Guide, now The G3 Collective—a space where women come together for coaching, reflection, accountability, and personal growth. Today, its guiding principles inform both the work we publish and the company we’re building.
Founded by New York Times bestselling author and certified life, fitness, and nutrition coach Elisabeth Ovesen, Habitus brings that culture of care into publishing. We exist to challenge practices that have too often undervalued women’s work and overlooked their needs. We believe a publishing relationship should combine creative freedom with clear communication, thoughtful strategy, and practical support for the woman behind the manuscript.
Our first series, The G3 Collection, begins with The Practice: A Gentle Framework for Intentional Living. Through digital books and printed A5 refills, including workbooks and guided journals, we bring the community’s approach to readers in formats designed for everyday use. Upcoming works will emerge from within the community, giving women a publishing home for their knowledge, perspectives, and lived experience.
Our digital-first approach reflects a commitment to sustainable growth. We’re building our catalog with attention to production costs, audience development, and each title's long-term life. Digital publishing and purposeful print formats let us grow thoughtfully while creating beautiful, useful work readers can return to.
That same intention shapes our vision for author support. Audience-building, business education, financial clarity, and wellness belong in the conversation from the beginning. Drawing on our coaching roots, we’re building toward a model that supports women’s emotional, physical, financial, and professional well-being alongside their creative work. Care is a founding principle that must be reflected in how we communicate, collaborate, and grow.
Habitus began with women learning and growing together. We’re carrying that foundation forward into a publishing house where women can develop their voices, build lasting bodies of work, and help shape a more considerate publishing legacy.
